Frequently Asked Questions

  • What types of therapy do you offer?

I offer online therapy tailored to meet the individual needs of my clients. My approaches include:

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): To help identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors.
    • Trauma-Focused Therapy: Specializing in the treatment of trauma-related issues, including PTSD, sexual abuse, and trafficking.
    • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): An evidence-based therapy for trauma recovery, particularly useful for those with PTSD or complex trauma.
  • How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy can be a valuable resource for anyone experiencing emotional distress, mental health challenges, or trauma. If you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, or trauma-related issues, therapy can provide support. If you’re unsure whether therapy is the right choice, I offer an initial consultation to discuss your needs and determine the best path forward.

  • How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment by filling out the contact form here or by contacting me directly via email or phone. We’ll work together to find a time that suits your schedule for an online therapy session.

  • What should I expect during my first session?

In the first session, we’ll take time to discuss your concerns, goals, and any relevant background information. This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and gain clarity about the therapy process. My aim is to create a supportive, trusting environment so you can begin your healing journey.

  • How long will therapy take?

The length of therapy depends on your individual needs and goals. Some clients may benefit from a few sessions, while others may need more long-term support. Therapy is personalized, and we will regularly check in on your progress. There is no commitment to a certain number of sessions, and we’ll adjust the frequency and duration as needed.

  • Do you offer therapy for children?

Yes, I offer online therapy for children (and adolescents). While I generally work with adults and adolescents, I am trained to provide therapy for younger clients as well. Currently, I am working on completing my specialist EMDR qualification for children, and I will update this section when I am able to offer EMDR for children online. Please feel free to contact me if you're seeking therapy for your child to discuss how we can best support their needs.

  • Is therapy confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of the therapeutic process. What you share in sessions remains private, with a few exceptions related to safety or legal requirements, which I will fully explain during our first session. Your privacy and trust are always respected.

  • What if I’m not comfortable with therapy or want to stop?

If at any point you feel therapy isn't the right fit, or if you have any concerns, I encourage you to share them with me. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we can adjust the approach as needed. If you decide to stop therapy, that decision will be respected, and we can explore other options if necessary.

  • What types of issues can therapy help with?

Therapy can help with a wide range of challenges, including:

    • Trauma/ CPTSD
    • Perinatal mental health (including birth trauma)
    • Anxiety and stress
    • Depression and low mood
    • Family and relationship issues
    • Grief and loss
    • Self-esteem and confidence
    • Parenting challenges
    • Coping with life transitions
  • Do you offer online therapy?

Yes, all therapy services are online. I use secure, confidential platforms to ensure privacy. Online therapy is convenient, allowing you to attend sessions from the comfort of your own home. This is available to clients regardless of location.

  • What are your fees?

    • Therapy sessions: £200 per hour.
    • Supervision for therapists: £120 per hour.
    • Medico-legal reports: Fees for medico-legal reports are quoted on a case-by-case basis.

My fees reflect my expertise, training, and the time spent outside of direct therapy hours, such as treatment planning, accessing supervision, and ongoing professional development (CPD).

I understand that therapy can be a significant investment, and for those seeking lower-cost options, I recommend reaching out to your GP or local NHS services, where support may be available at a reduced cost.

  • Do you accept insurance?

Currently, I do not accept insurance directly. However, I can provide a receipt for the services rendered, which you may be able to submit for reimbursement through your insurance provider, depending on your policy.

  • What are your working hours?

My working hours are Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. I do not offer therapy outside of these hours.

  • How do I know if I’m making progress in therapy?

Therapy is a process, and progress may look different for each person. Many clients begin to notice improvements in their emotional responses, behaviors, and overall well-being. We’ll regularly check in on your goals and progress, and if at any point you feel unsure about your progress, we’ll discuss it and make adjustments as needed.

  • Can you help with trauma recovery?

Yes, trauma recovery is one of my areas of specialization. I use a range of therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences. My goal is to support you in rebuilding your life and finding strength after trauma.
